We've had so many great submissions this year; thank you all for spending the time and effort in nominating your favourite bar. We had many passionate submissions for many of last year's nominations, including a grand number of new destinations including Hemmingway's in Cascais, the Black Pearl in Newport, Rhode Island, the Waikiki Yacht Club, and even a 'land locked' yacht club – the Classic Café in Seabrook,Texas! (They must have BIG boats there). Alas, it's a hard job for the team at Wight Vodka and Scuttlebutt Europe, but in the end, we have narrowed the list down to the Top Ten based on the sheer volume of submissions as well as the quality and passion of your entries. Without further adieu, (and shown in alpha order) here are your Favourite Yachting Bars for 2010! - Foxy's in the BVI And now for the "Wight Vodka Rules of Voting" and the countdown to New Year's Eve, when the winning bar will be announced and the team from Wight Vodka will (after a few martinis) call each of the top ten bars to congratulate them on their successes. 1. There are hundreds of excellent entries, and the team at Atlantis, Scuttlebutt Europe, Seahorse Magazine and Wight Vodka need to agree on the ultimate submission (which will most likely happen after a few Wight Vodka cocktails…) The Northern Wight The ingredients you'll need to mix the perfect Northern Wight are: - 1/2 shot of chilled Wight Vodka Combine your Wight Vodka, the cranberry and pomegranate juices in a shaker with ice and mix it for a minute or two to really chill it. Strain into your favourite champagne flutes, top up with champagne and a splash of Chambord. Beware that your guests will definitely ask for more…so have a well stocked bar! |
